As one of Indonesia's leading automotive manufacturers, HMMI is strengthening its commitment to sustainable manufacturing by integrating renewable energy into its production facilities.
Project Details
The motorcycle canopy solar PV installation at PT Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (HMMI) has a total installed capacity of 716.8 kWp. Designed to maximize the utilization of the parking canopy area, the system supports HMMI's operational electricity demand while contributing to the company's long-term environmental sustainability goals through clean and renewable energy generation.
Challenges
The project involved the construction of a dedicated solar PV canopy structure, requiring precise structural engineering, detailed planning, and close coordination throughout the construction process. Maintaining installation quality while ensuring the structure met both technical and aesthetic standards became a key project consideration.
Our Solution
HIJAU's experienced civil engineering team developed the canopy design, performed comprehensive structural calculations, and closely supervised construction to ensure the installation was executed safely and in accordance with the approved design. Continuous coordination throughout the project enabled the solar PV canopy to be delivered with high structural integrity and quality.
Result
The 716.8 kWp motorcycle canopy solar PV system supports HMMI's operational electricity needs while contributing to the company's sustainability initiatives. Upon completion, the installation will reduce carbon emissions by approximately 12,689 tons of CO₂, equivalent to planting 25,378 trees, demonstrating the successful integration of renewable energy into HMMI's manufacturing facilities.
